Job Summary: As a CRE Loan Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for performing routine and intermediate duties related to the servicing of loans secured by commercial real estate.
Loans in the portfolio include construction loans and term loans secured by commercial real estate located throughout the continental United States.
Loans include syndication and participation loans, as well as wholly-owned loans.
Experience with servicing commercial real estate loans and/or syndication and participation loans are a plus.
Job Description: Board new loans and modifications into loan management system (Fiserv’s Precision).
Process loan advances, loan payments, rate changes, loan structure modifications in Precision.
Coordinate with accounting department and assist with month-end reconciliation of loan balances and general ledger.
Ensure an adequate audit trail for all transactions.
Maintain tickler system and follow up for missing or outdated items including insurance, flood certificates, property taxes, and loan covenants.
Provide a high degree of internal and external customer service with borrowers and partner lenders.
Provide back-up to a variety of loan operations daily functions, as needed.
Assist in processing construction draw requests and monitor construction budgets.
Assist in ordering third-party reports including title reports, appraisals, inspection reports, and environmental due diligence.
Maintain organization and completeness of loan files including scanning and saving documents in electronic and hard copy folders.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: 2+ years of experience boarding and servicing commercial real estate loans, preferably using Fiserv’s Precision loan management software.
Basic experience, knowledge and training in all loan servicing activities and terminology.
Familiarity with commercial real estate loan documentation including promissory notes, deeds of trust/mortgages, loan agreements, guarantees, etc.
General knowledge of accounting principles.
Comfortable performing required tasks and problem-solving with minimal supervision.
Must be detail-oriented.
Intermediate math skills; calculate interest, proportions, and percentages; balance accounts; add; subtract, multiply and divide; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Working knowledge of computer software programs including Excel, Word, etc.
required.
Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, and speak clearly to customers and employees.
Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work effectively with changing processes.
Ability to make sound decisions and recommendations.
Ability to work with general supervision while performing duties.
Preferred Qualifications: 2+ years’ experience reviewing construction draw requests.
2+ years’ experience preparing LaserPro loan documentation for commercial real estate loans.
2+ years’ experience preparing commercial real estate loan files for closing.
Experience working with participation and syndication loans.
Working knowledge of construction draw process, as well as familiarity with mechanics lien laws and state construction registries.
Familiarity with third-party reports including appraisals, title reports, environmental reports, and inspection reports.
