A position has been declared open in the Weber School District at West Field High School for an Auto Teacher.
This position is for 8 hours per day, 9 months per year.

THIS POSITION WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL FILLED, AFTER A MINIMUM OF 5 WORKING DAYS Under the direction of the school principal, the teacher is responsible for the education of assigned students and will create a flexible program and class environment favorable for learning and personal growth.
The teacher will establish effective rapport with students; motivate pupils to develop skills, attitudes, and the knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for further education, and do so in accordance with each student's ability.
Professional relations will be developed and maintained with other staff and parents.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a collegiate or postgraduate professional license or be eligible for a provisional license in Secondary education.
Currently have or willing to complete a Certification for Welding with the State of Utah or equivalent.
Experience providing ongoing academic guidance for students preferred.
Understand State Strands and Standards established by the Board of Education Teaches subject matter, utilizing the course of study adopted by the Board of Education, correlated with other appropriate learning activities.

Plans and implements a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of students.
Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the developmental level of the students.
Prepares for classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
Guides the learning process towards the achievement of curriculum goals and within the content of these goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects with the ability to communicate these objectives effectively to students.
Establish a safe and effective learning lab environment.
Ability to design, create plans with welding and fabrication symbols.
Participate in advising CTSO opportunities for students.
Establishes high expectations for academic success and classroom behavior.
Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media to meet the needs and capabilities of the student or students involved.
Identifies special needs and seeks the assistance of specialists.
Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports to supervisors and parents.
Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law and policy.
Assists in designing, upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations and School Board Policy.
Actively participates in faculty and/or department meetings.
Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
Exerts leadership in working with school and staff.
Assists in the selection of books, equipment and other instructional materials.
Establishes and maintains open lines of communication with students and their parents.
Provides for professional growth through an ongoing program of reading, workshops, seminars, conferences and/or advanced course work at institutions of higher learning.
Assists in the preparation of data for local, state and federal reports.
Assists in the collection of data for providing appropriate intervention.
Participates in faculty committee meetings; chaperoning, counseling and other similar responsibilities that are part of the school’s service in loco parentis; and exercises discretionary authority over day-to-day teaching functions.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
GENERAL DEFINITION AND CONDITIONS OF WORK: Duties performed typically in a school setting.
Performs professional work providing teaching and/or training services to students in a specialized subject.
Work requires frequent standing, sitting, light lifting up to 10 pounds, walking, vocal communication for expressing or exchanging ideas, hearing to perceive information at a normal spoken word level and visual acuity for preparing and analyzing written or computer data.
Attendance is an essential function of this job opportunity.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with students, school, staff, district staff, and patrons.
Possesses problem-solving skills.
Has knowledge of State Core Curriculum and Board of Education adopted guides.
