Job Overview: Responsible for providing career technical training (CTT) instruction to students in accordance with approved curricula.
Work as part of a training team in coordinating CTT instruction, academic instruction, work-based learning and social development in compliance with government, corporate, and management directives.
Pay for position: $18.
14 / hour plus an additional $4.
41 / hour cashed out fringe in lieu of benefits Responsibilities: Essential Duties & Job Functions: Responsible for providing vocational instruction in order to develop and instruct students in the Forestry Practices Prepares an instructional program in accordance with training or other course requirements, assembling materials to be presented.
Reviews course materials ensuring the most up-to-date information is utilized in the development of basic course materials such as study guides, visual aids, simple simulations (mock ups and models), written tests, proficiency charts, training aids, and course outlines.
Teaches assigned topics in accordance with approved curriculum effectively utilizing all allotted time, maintains proficiency in instructional techniques, incorporates current examples in the teaching process (e.
g.
develops clarification or real world examples of application related to the subject matter) Establishes individual training plans for each student assigned to the Forestry Practices vocational training program based on the student’s entry level skills.
This includes introduction and instruction of basic concepts and skills required for timber marking, timber stand improvement, sale layout, tree planting, fire fighting, trail construction and maintenance, wildlife habitat enhancement, erosion control, landline survey, road location, etc.
Oversees and instructs student who are accomplishing assigned training projects which include projects for the Work Based Learning (WBL) programs, occupation exploration during the Career Preparation Period (CPP), work experience program, and various Work Programs Division projects.
The training projects may be located on Center, on other government lands, or in nearby communities on public projects.
Develops and maintains classroom techniques that reflect professionalism, good discipline and enhance teaching.
Alternates teaching techniques in order to maintain high motivation and interest in the subject areas.
Administers prescribed tests.
Monitors students’ vocational progress on a monthly basis.
Maintains a variety of records and reports covering student activities in the vocational phase of the training program.
This includes monitoring the Training Achievement Reports (TARs) student accountability record, progress reports, and resumes of Submits written recommendations for curriculum updates to ensure consistency with changes and innovations in the latest applicable publications or documents.
Counsels students about matters relevant to their vocational performance and other Center-related concerns to encourage and motivate them to succeed on Center and after graduation.
Handles discipline and behavioral problems for students assigned.
Performs other related duties as assigned Job Requirements: Mandatory: High School diploma or equivalent.
Five (5) years’ experience in the general field of instruction Ability to obtain and maintain any required certification required for the field/trade in which you are providing instruction.
Valid driver’s license, with an acceptable driving record for the state in which you are providing service.
Successfully pass any background check and/or drug test required on the contract.
