Slippery Rock University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month faculty position with the possibility of a summer stipend in our Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program that is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council of Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE®).
Faculty responsibilities include developing and teaching graduate courses in the OTD program, advising/mentoring assigned students during program and research activities, participating in program, department, college, university and community service and engaging in scholarship and professional development.
Minimum Qualifications
All candidates must have a doctoral degree from an institution that is accredited by a USDE-recognized regional accrediting body by the start of their appointment (OTD, EdD, PhD, DrPH, etc.
).
Applicants who are occupational therapy practitioners must have initial certification from NBCOT, have three years of clinical experience, and be eligible for licensure as an occupational therapist in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Performance in an on-campus interview and teaching demonstration are required for consideration.
Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to the education of diverse populations and have knowledge of the roles, responsibilities and the scope of practice of the occupational therapy profession.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in higher education is preferred.
Clinical experiences with technology and/or pediatric populations is of interest.
